News of the 2025 Vermont Maple Season

News of the 2025 season kicked off in December with some early sap runs and picked up in earnest in March. Here are some stories that made it to print and television/online this season:
- WPTZ covered some early season sap runs with Branon Family Maple Orchards in Fairfield
- The Solinskys hosted the 2025 Governor’s Tree Tapping on Monday, March 3rd at their Sugarhouse Certified operation in Sutton, Pure Gold Sugaring. They were ready for the crowds and distinguished guests with tours; treats like donuts, cotton candy, coffee and syrup; games for kids and adults; and a beautiful operation. Several news outlets covered the event, including WCAX and WPTZ as well as news outlets like the Brattleboro Reformer.
- National Geographic posted an online article about the Vermont maple industry, producers and Maple Open House Weekend
- The St. Albans Messenger interviewed UVM Extension’s Maple Specialist Mark Isselhardt to hear “What’s Shaking in the Sugarbush?”
- Henry Marckres, aka “Mr. Maple”, spoke with The Herald newspaper about his experience
