Celebrating the 2025 Maple Open House Weekend

In addition to our usual Vermont Public underwriting, paid advertising with Front Porch Forum, print ads in Seven Days, social media advertising and posting, and a statewide press release, we had new opportunities to talk about Maple Open House Weekend this year. What you won’t see in the news though, is how VMSMA staff become Vermont’s maple concierges for the season. We fielded calls and emails from near and far and helped visitors find sugar makers and plan routes throughout the state. And then we joined the crowds and visited sugarhouses around the state throughout the weekend!
- Allison joined the Across the Fence team for an episode that aired March 14th to discuss VMSMA, Maple Season and our favorite event of the year - Maple Open House. Allison made maple whoopie pies, using a recipe from Carman Brook Farm on our website, and offered a toast to the maple season with maple old fashioneds (using local maple bitters, maple rye whisky and pure Vermont maple syrup).
- Allison spoke with Ginny McGehee of Hall Communications for her radio program, In Touch, that aired on Sunday, March 16th on various statewide radio stations.
- Allison joined Steve Palmer for their now annual visit to WVMT to join Kurt Wright and Anthony Neri of “The Morning Drive”.
- Vermont Public joined Nebraska Knoll Sugar Farm and the Green Mountain Audubon Center for some “sights and sounds of spring” during Maple Open House Weekend
